Office Visits

We ask that you try to arrive promptly for your appointment. We require 24 hours notice of cancellation in the event you are unable to keep your appointment. Please bring your eyeglasses, contact lenses and a list of all your medications with you on each visit. When you arrive for a routine eye examination, please plan to spend at least one hour in our office.

In order to perform a thorough examination of your eyes, we will perform a number of diagnostic tests. We will test for visual changes, glaucoma, cataracts, corneal disease, macular disease, and retinal disease. We will use eye drops to dilate your eyes so that the doctor can make an accurate determination of your condition. This process is painless, but usually these drops will blur your near vision temporarily and cause your eyes to be sensitive to light. These side effects will disappear within two to four hours after the examination. You may want to bring sunglasses to wear after the examination because your eyes may be sensitive to sunlight. Temporary sunglasses will be provided. We recommend that you bring a driver, if possible.

Please Note:

  • Minors must be accompanied by a parent.
  • We have a 15 minute late policy. Please arrive at your scheduled time or we will have to reschedule.
  • If you do not show up for your appointment, a no show fee will be assesed.

Insurance

It is important to understand that insurance is an agreement between you and your insurer. It is your responsibility to be aware of the limitations of your plan and your co-pay, co-insurance-deductible, and out-of-pocket expense amounts. You are responsible for providing your correct insurance at the time of service. If you have vision insurance, it is your responsibility to provide us with the correct carrier. Many vision plans require prior authorization. If we do not participate with your insurance company, payment is expected at the time of service. All co-pays must be paid at time at time of visit. For your convenience, we accept cash, check, debit and credit cards. Patients are responsible for obtaining referrals from their primary physician prior to receiving services. If the proper referral is not presented at the time of his/her appointment, the patient will be charged in full for the service, or the appointment must be rescheduled.
